Richmond School’s Week Ahead

October 19–23, 2026

Dear families,

A friendly reminder that Monday is a Professional Learning Day, and there will be no school for students. Our teachers will be engaged in professional learning focused on our School Development Plan as we continue to grow and strengthen learning opportunities for all students.

We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday!

School Community Safety Reminder

A friendly reminder to our school community to help keep all students safe during drop-off and pick-up:

  • Please use designated crosswalks and follow the directions of our school patrols.
  • Please do not park in the drop-off zone to pick up children, as this area needs to remain clear for safe and smooth traffic flow.

Our Grade 5 and 6 patrol students greatly appreciate your support and cooperation as they help keep everyone safe!

Thank you for working together to keep our school community safe.

Grade 6 Halloween Candy Bag Fundraiser Is Back!

Starting Monday, October 26, Grade 6 students will be selling Halloween candy bags just before the end of the school day.

Each bag is $5, and all proceeds will support the cost of Grade 6 Camp.

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful Grade 6 parent community, each bag is filled with delicious treats, including chocolates, lollipops, and much more!

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you there!

Richmond School Council Updates

Staff Appreciation Cart

After such great success last year, School Council is excited to bring back the Staff Appreciation Cart. Every other month, School Council will restock a staff cart with snacks and treats as a small gesture of gratitude for our hardworking staff.

These thoughtful contributions go a long way in showing appreciation for the time, care, and dedication our teachers and support staff bring to Richmond School every day.

We are very grateful for any support families can provide. If you would like to contribute, please sign up using the link below.

Fun Lunches

The next Fun Lunch with Healthy Hunger is Wednesday, November 18, featuring Via Cibo. The order deadline is Friday, November 13.

Parents of students in Grades 1–6 who would like to participate in the school’s Fun Lunch program must visit the Healthy Hunger webpage and follow the instructions.

Please note:

  • Kindergarten students will not participate in the Fun Lunch program because they attend school for half days and are not present during lunch.
  • Even if you have registered in previous years, you must register again to select your child’s new class before placing an order.
  • The deadline to order is the Friday before each Fun Lunch.
