Dear Families,

This week was full of sunshine, field trips, swimming, exam preparations and engaging lessons.

We were also honoured to have a group of Grade 5/6 students present the Land Acknowledgement at the CBE Trustee Board Meeting this past Tuesday; the students were outstanding. They proudly represented Richmond and shared their HEART messages.

Spring Celebration and 75th Anniversary Performance Videos

This year, students have demonstrated their talents through a series of performances. In March, students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 performed in the Spring Celebration, inspired by Camille Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals. In April, students in all grades and classes performed as a part of Richmond School's 75th Anniversary Celebration. The Spring Celebration performances were recorded, and 75th Anniversary Celebration rehearsals were also recorded. The recordings have been lightly edited to improve sound quality and legibility. All assembly videos will be deleted no later than June 30th 2025. Without permission from all families of students in the video(s), the videos cannot be shared by the school. On average, each class requires about 3 more permission forms to be completed. Please reach out to Mr. G. (adgoodridge@cbe.ab.ca) with any questions.

Swimming

We would like to take a moment to thank all parents who have already signed up to volunteer for the second group of swimming lessons (June 3, 4, 5 and June 10, 11, 12). We have had several parents sign up, however we are still in need of more volunteers for the boys and girls change rooms on the following days:

June 5- 1 volunteer for Grade 4 (9:45-11:30)
June 10- 1 volunteer for Grade 4 (9:45-11:30)
June 12- 1 volunteer for Grade 1 (8:45-10:30)

Reminder: the volunteer police clearance must be completed.

If you can volunteer, please use our quick and easy Microsoft Form: https://forms.office.com/r/UD3dbTPLY4

As well, you can email Mr. Southworth with the dates and times you can volunteer, and he can help register you as well: cnsouthworth@cbe.ab.ca

We appreciate your support of the Phys-Ed program at Richmond School.

Activity Day Volunteers

This year our annual Richmond School Activity Day will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 9:40AM – 12:00PM. We will have a variety of outdoor Indigenous activities, games and other stations for students to engage with. Richmond School staff will plan and lead the activities, however we are looking for volunteers to help run the stations.

Please note that all volunteers must have current volunteer clearance. Richmond school has amazing volunteers and parent support. We appreciate all you do for our amazing school community.

If you are able to volunteer for our activity day, please complete this online form: https://forms.office.com/r/F8jBcRbJm3
