Richmond School Winter Celebration 2023
Our Winter Celebration is taking place this year on Thursday, December 14, 2023. We are excited to gather as a school community and share our talents through a series of short performances from all classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Ticket reservations began on Wednesday Nov. 8 using this link:
Tickets are free and are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to support us in accommodating all parents and guardians, limit tickets to parents/guardians and child siblings of performers until Monday, December 4. Once submitted, your ticket request will be reviewed and Mr. Goodridge will contact you to confirm the reservation of tickets.
December 1 Update
- The evening performance is now sold out and there are no further tickets available to that performance. Parents/step-parents/guardians and child siblings of performers may still reserve tickets to the Morning (10:00am) or Afternoon (1:15pm) performances. Please use this link for parents/step-parent/guardian tickets only: https://forms.office.com/r/UJZZW4bnFW.
- A limited number of tickets will be available for grandparents/aunts/uncles/etc. for the Morning and Afternoon performances only. The reservation form for extended family tickets will “go live” at 8:25am on Monday, December 4. The link for extended family tickets is https://forms.office.com/r/8DfUCGYkwJ. Please make sure that you submit your request to the correct form by ensuring the name at the top is "Richmond School Winter Celebration 2023 - Extended Family Ticket Reservations". Ticket requests submitted before 8:25am, or submitted to the wrong form will not be processed.
- Extended family tickets are in addition to any tickets you may already hold and they do not need to be for the same performance as your existing tickets. For example, the parents may attend the afternoon while the grandparents attend the morning performance.
- Reserved tickets will be confirmed by email first, and then sent home in your eldest student’s agenda. Please check the agenda each day and keep your tickets safe.
- Please email Mr. Goodridge to let him know if your child(ren) will not be present for the Evening performance.
Please contact Mr. Goodridge (adgoodridge@cbe.ab.ca) with any questions.
Annual Christmas Hampers (ONLY 1.5 weeks away)
In preparing for the Holiday Season, we would like to show HEART by supporting our families in need. We would like to request gift cards (preferably to a grocery store or Walmart) or cash (any cash donations will be used to purchase gift cards). The donations will be distributed to 18 identified families. Mrs. Kelly Klassen will accept donations up until Wednesday, December 13, in the Main Office.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
Book Fair Results
A great big thank you to all the families and staff who supported the Scholastic book fair!!! With your help we sold about $8,600 in items at the fair, which is about $2,000 more than last year! As well, some families generously adopted about $457 in books for the Learning Commons. Thank you so much!
Another great big thank you to the volunteers who helped set up the fair, sell items, and pack up the fair when it was finished! We had 14 volunteers helping with this event and what a difference these extra hands made! We are lucky to have a community that is so supportive of this literacy initiative.
From the fair, we were able to donate $205 in books for 16 Richmond School students.
For the Learning Commons,
- we took $231 in Scholastic books from the fair
- we earned $1,848 in cash to spend on books
Note that all of the books that were ordered from the fair were delivered to the classroom on Thursday, so check with your student(s) to ensure they made it home. For the adopted books, once these are added to the collection, they will be put on hold for the student whose family adopted the book for the library so they have the first chance to borrow the book.
The next book fair will be a year from now, so I hope to see you then.
Thanks again for your tremendous support!
