Dear Families,

The Holiday Luncheon was amazing, festive, delicious and enjoyed by students and staff. Special thanks to School Council (parent volunteers) and Christine Cowieson (Events Coordinator) for providing this opportunity. Thank you to the volunteers who were dressed as elves and shared their holiday spirit of HEART with us, there was a smile on every child’s face.

Richmond School Winter Celebration 2023

Our Winter Celebration is taking place this year on Thursday, December 14 2023. We are excited to gather as a school community and share our talents through a series of short performances from all classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

December 7 Update

  • General Information
    • If you have not requested your free tickets yet, please do so using this link as soon as possible: https://forms.office.com/r/8DfUCGYkwJ. Tickets are now available for extended family members, such as grandparents. Tickets are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and the three shows have limited capacity due to space and fire code restrictions.
    • Please keep your tickets safe, and ensure they are for the correct performance time. If there are any issues with your tickets, or if you are no longer able to attend, please email Mr. G. right away.
    • There will be three shows on Thursday, December 14th. The morning show will begin at 10:00am and is expected to conclude by 11:30am, the afternoon show will begin at 1:15pm and is expected to conclude by 2:45pm, and the evening show will begin at 6:00pm and is expected to conclude by 7:30pm. For each performance, doors will open to guests 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Both the main office doors and the grade 5/6 doors (northwest corner of the school, closest to the community centre) will open at the same time.
    • The benches at the front of the gym are reserved for the guests of students currently on the stage to enable you the opportunity to get the best view of your child(ren) during their performances. Between acts, guests are encouraged to leave the benches to make space for the guests of students in the next performing class.
    • Please stay for the entire performance. Students in all classes have worked hard to prepare, and the classes performing at the end are just as excited to perform for you as the other classes are.
    • There is no dress code for student performers, though they are encouraged to wear something that they like that makes them feel special.·

  • The Evening Performance
    • All students are welcome and encouraged to perform in the evening performance, even if their guests are attending the morning or afternoon shows instead. When not on stage, student performers will enjoy a classroom party with their friends and teacher. We understand it may not be possible for all students to participate in the evening show, but we would love to for as many students as possible to take part.
    • If your child is in Grade 5 or 6 and will not be performing in the evening show, please email Mr. G. to let him know as their classes' performance will need to be adjusted.
    • Please aim for student performers to arrive at school by 5:30pm. They should enter the building through their usual entry door and proceed to their classroom. If they arrive after 5:30pm, they may line up by the main office or grade 5/6 doors and enter the building when doors open to guests at 5:45pm. If you will not be attending the evening show as a guest but your child(ren) will be performing, consider making arrangements for them to carpool with classmates.
    • After the show has finished, please ensure your child's teacher sees you and your child leave. They will have a checklist to update.

Please contact Mr. Goodridge (adgoodridge@cbe.ab.ca) with any questions.
