Welcome back! We hope that you enjoyed a restful and joyful Spring Break. As we begin the last three months of the school year, we are excited to reconnect, continue learning together, and support our students as they grow and thrive.
Please note: Tomorrow, Friday, April 3, the school is closed for Good Friday. Classes resume Monday, April 6.
Grade 6 Popcorn Fundraiser
We have some extra popcorn from our Grade 6 Popcorn Fundraiser. The Grade 6 students would like to raffle off the remaining popcorn to two classrooms in our school. Each winning classroom will receive approximately 60 bags of popcorn.
Tickets will be sold on Tuesday, April 7 during recess. For $1, students will receive two tickets for a chance for their entire class to win approximately 60 bags of popcorn. The draw will take place on Thursday, April 9 during our leadership announcements.

Gymnastics
A reminder that gymnastics started this week. At Richmond School, safety is always our top priority, and we ask that all families send their children to school with proper clothing for the gymnastics unit.
Head-to-Toe, Good To Go!
- Head: Long hair pulled back
- Ears/Throat/Wrist: No jewelry
- Shirt: No sweaters, hoodies, or loose shirts
- Waist: Shirt tucked in
- Pants: Stretchy pants
- Ankles: Pants rolled up if too long
- Toes: Running shoes or bare feet

Important: 2026-2027 School Year Update
If you plan on moving and your child(ren) will not be attending Richmond School next year, please let the office know as soon as possible. Our student count is important for planning the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

Richmond School Council Update
As we begin planning for the 2026-2027 school year, we are reaching out to invite parents and guardians to consider joining our School Council. With only a few meetings left this year, now is a great time to attend and learn about how School Council contributes to our school. Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 13 at 6:30 PM.
The majority of our current School Council members will have children entering Grade 6 next year and will be stepping down. That said, they are more than willing to support and assist new members to ensure a smooth transition.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:
- Chair
- Vice Chair
- Treasurer
- Casino Coordinator (next casino is 2027-2028)
- Fundraising Coordinator
- Events/Volunteer Coordinator

Staff Appreciation Cart
We have been overwhelmed with the support we have received with the launch of the monthly snack cart for our staff - thank you very much! These thoughtful contributions go a long way in showing appreciation for the time, care, and dedication our teachers and support staff bring to Richmond School every day.

Fun Lunches
The next Fun Lunch with Healthy Hunger is Wednesday, April 15 with Coco Brooks. The order deadline is Friday, April 10.
All parents with children in Grades 1-6 who wish to participate must visit the Healthy Hunger webpage and follow the instructions provided. Please select RICHMOND SCHOOL from the drop-down menu. Even if you have registered or ordered in previous years, you will need to register again to select your child's new class. Once registered, you will receive email notifications whenever a new Fun Lunch is posted.
Upcoming Fun Lunch Dates:
- Wednesday, May 13 - The Lunch Lady (order deadline Friday, May 8)
- Wednesday, June 17 - Opa (order deadline Friday, June 12)
