Dear Families
Thank you to the many parents who joined us at our first School Council Meeting (Parent) this school year. School Council provides many enriched opportunities for our students’ educational experiences, such as supports for field trips, in school events and resources.
Thank you to the parents who are willing to help us with the traffic flow and safety around the parking near crosswalks. We greatly appreciate you volunteering your time to ensure the safety of our students and school community. Your HEART is immensely appreciated!
Terry Fox Run
On Monday, September 16, the students will be participating in our annual Terry Fox Run. We will have a short assembly followed by a whole school run from 2:15pm-3:00pm around the Richmond School field and the adjacent Richmond community center field.
We ask all students to participate in the run and show true Richmond HEART on this special day! As well, if there are any families wish to donate to the school’s fundraising, you can donate online at https://schools.terryfox.ca/71691/donate Last year we raised over $1600 as a school and we hope to match or beat this amount! Alternatively, you may wish to send a ‘Toonie for Terry’ with your child on Monday to raise money for cancer research.
Thank you for your support!

Richmond School Council Update
The Parent Council would like to extend a huge thank you to those parents and caregivers who came out to our first school council meeting of the year last night. It is the biggest turnout we have seen in years and we so appreciated seeing all the new faces! We are also excited to have had a few parents eager to help with some new initiatives this year to continue to enrich the lives of the kids at the school, as well as our community. If you were unable to make it last night, or if you ever have any questions for Parent Council, we would love to hear from you at: richmondschoolcouncil@gmail.com
In the meantime, we are gearing up to bring back Fun Lunches with Healthy Hunger for this school year! In preparation of the upcoming lunches - which will be released soon - all parents who have children who would like to participate in the school's fun lunches will have to visit the webpage Healthy Hunger and follow the instructions on that page. Please note you will choose RICHMOND SCHOOL (not Richmond Elementary) from the drop down. Even if you have registered/ordered in previous years, you will need to register again to select your child's new class in order to place an order. Once registered you will also receive an email notifying you every time a new fun lunch is posted.
If you have any questions regarding fun lunches, please reach out to Denise Wanchulak at denisewanchulak@gmail.com
