Dear Families,

We had a wonderful start to our school year with our first school assembly, dedicated to honouring the legacy of Terry Fox and his incredible Marathon of Hope.

Our Grade 5 students did an amazing job leading the assembly. They shared important information about Terry Fox, his journey, and the impact his courage and determination continue to have today. We encourage you to ask your child(ren) about the assembly and what they learned. We hope their learning will spark meaningful conversations at home about perseverance, courage, kindness, and making a difference in the lives of others.

Our Grade 6 students also demonstrated wonderful leadership by setting up the running loop and helping to marshal our Terry Fox Run. We are incredibly proud of the leadership, responsibility, and school spirit our students have demonstrated already this year.

A very special thank you to our Grade 5 and Grade 6 classes for their leadership and hard work in making this event such a success. We would also like to thank all of the families who donated funds to support this important cause. Your generosity helps us continue to honour Terry's vision of making a difference.

It was wonderful to see our school community come together in support of such an important cause. We are so proud of our students and the way they continue to show that small acts of courage, leadership, and kindness can make a big difference.

Staff Appreciation Cart

After such great success last year, School Council is excited to bring back the Staff Appreciation Cart.

Every other month, our School Council will be restocking a staff cart with snacks and treats as a small gesture of gratitude for our hardworking staff. These thoughtful contributions go a long way in showing appreciation for the time, care, and dedication our teachers and support staff bring to Richmond School every day.

Fun Lunches

The next Fun Lunch with Healthy Hunger is Wednesday, October 14, featuring Opa!. The order deadline is Friday, October 9.

Parents of students in eligible grades who would like to participate in the school's Fun Lunch program will need to visit the Healthy Hunger webpage and follow the registration instructions.

Please note:

• Kindergarten students do not participate in the Fun Lunch program, as they attend school for half days and are not present during lunch.
• Even if you registered in previous years, you will need to register again to select your child's new class before placing an order.
• The order deadline is the Friday before each Fun Lunch Day.
