Dear Families,

This year we took time to honour and remember Indigenous Veterans Day (November 8) and Remembrance Day in an assembly lead by Ms. Tutkaluk’s Grade 5/6 students. Our students shared the new Land Acknowledgement, recited Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae’s “In Flanders Field”, and invited Corporal Blanco to speak to our school about Remembrance Day. We learned about how Canadian soldiers have made and continue to make contributions at home and around the World before representatives from each class lay a wreath to the haunting song “A Soldier’s Cry” by Roland Majeau. Wishing you an enjoyable Fall Break.

Volunteers Needed – Alien Inline Skating

We are in need of volunteers for our Alien Inline Residency for Phys. Ed. If you are able to volunteer, please fill out the Microsoft Form using the link below. We require volunteers for our Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 classes to assist students with getting their inline skating equipment on and off.

You are required to have a valid security clearance on file with the CBE. If you unsure of the status of your clearance please contact Ms. Gocal at begocal@cbe.ab.ca.

You are able to select multiple times on the form for volunteering. You will see the class name, along with the time that the class will be skating. Please make sure you fill in the question asking for your name, or else the form will be submitted as anonymous.

If the link below doesn’t work, please email Mr. D’Aloisio at dfdaloisio@cbe.ab.ca or cut and paste the following link into your browser’s address bar.

Thank you for your support!

Winter & Spring Celebration

Richmond School is excited to welcome families to our annual Winter Celebration performances on Thursday December 12, 2024. The Winter Celebration will feature performances from all classes from Grade 3 to 6. Students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 will perform in the Spring Celebration in March 2025. We will hold two performances on Thursday December 12, one during regular school hours and one in the evening. All classes from Grade 3 to 6 will perform in both the afternoon and the evening performances. The afternoon performance will take place from 1:15pm-2:45pm, and the evening performance will take place from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Doors will open for guests 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Due to seating limitations, each guest may attend ONE of the two performances. In order to support us in accommodating all parents and guardians, limit tickets to parents/guardians and school-aged siblings. Performers do not need tickets, but siblings do if they will be requiring a seat.

We are hoping to provide everyone's first choice of performance time, though this may not be possible. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis using a Microsoft Form (https://forms.office.com/r/Vviq0CwR9x).

Please contact Mr. Goodridge (adgoodridge@cbe.ab.ca) with any questions.
