Dear Families

Thanks to the weather cooperating this week, students and staff completed our third Fire Drill (practice) on Thursday. There will be another three drills in the New Year, January-June. Our practice Lock Down Drill was held last week by the Calgary City Police. Our students have performed both drills respectfully, we are proud of their efforts in learning to keep ourselves safe while at school. Thank you for your support.

Families please continue to model and support safety while walking or dropping off and picking up your children at school. The extra snow may be problematic at times, however allowing yourself some extra time is helpful. Reminders: U-Turns in front of the school are an illegal turn. Please respect the pylons as they mark off areas that parking and dropping off are not permitted. Thanks!

Our “lost and found” is growing once again, if your child is missing a piece of clothing please ask them to check the lost and found. Items not picked up by December 20th, will be donated to charity.

Winter Celebration 2024 – Thursday December 12

There is less than one week to go until the grade 3, 4, 5/6 Winter Celebration! There are a few tickets to the afternoon performance still available for parents, guardians, and extended family members. Please use the correct link based on who the tickets are for:

The Evening Performance: All students are welcome and encouraged to perform in the evening performance, even if their guests are attending the afternoon show instead. When not on stage, student performers will enjoy a classroom party with their friends and teacher. We understand it may not be possible for all students to participate in the evening show, but we would love to for as many students as possible to take part.

If your child is in Grade 5 or 6 and will not be performing in the evening show, please email Mr. G. to let him know as their classes' performance will need to be adjusted.

Please aim for student performers to arrive at school by 5:30pm. They should enter the building through their usual entry door and proceed to their classroom. If they arrive after 5:30pm, they may line up by the main office or grade 5/6 doors and enter the building when doors open to guests at 5:45pm. If you will not be attending the evening show as a guest but your child(ren) will be performing, consider making arrangements for them to carpool with classmates.

After the show has finished, please ensure your child's teacher sees you and your child leave. They will have a checklist to update.

Please contact Mr. Goodridge (adgoodridge@cbe.ab.ca) with any questions.
