Dear Families,

We hope you had a wonderful and restful summer and enjoyed some quality time together as a family.

As we begin a new school year, we would like to thank you for your support and partnership during the transition back to school. We truly appreciate your encouragement and collaboration in helping your children settle into the routines and excitement of a new school year.

At Richmond, we believe in creating a school community where everyone feels valued, supported, and included. Our HEART values — Harmony, Engagement, Adaptability, Respect, and Truth — guide how we learn, work, and grow together each day.

We are looking forward to working together with you throughout the year to support your children’s learning, growth, and success. We value the important partnership between home and school and look forward to a year filled with learning, connection, and new opportunities.

Important Reminders:

Supervision | Bell Times

Please note that outdoor supervision begins at 8:05am, students are welcomed into the building at 8:10am and teaching and learning begins at 8:15am. Outside doors to classrooms will be open until 8:13am, students arriving after this time will need to enter through the Main Doors and will be marked late. Punctuality in school helps set students and classrooms up for a successful day.

Parent Supervision

Students are asked to go to their grade doors by 8:05am, there is no supervision on the playground, ONLY students with parent supervision may be on the playground at this time.

School Patrols | Increase in traffic

School Patrols will be starting up soon to support safe crossings at the crosswalks. Please help model the appropriate crossing of the streets. Due to construction on 26th Ave, we are seeing a greater volume of traffic in front of the school.

Richmond School Council Updates

School Council Meeting:

School Council would like to welcome all parents to our first meeting on Wednesday September 9th, 6:30 to 7:30 PM. All parents are welcome to attend council meetings where you have an opportunity to hear from our Principal with an update on the start of school, important dates coming up and to hear about the Parent Association’s plans for the year including fundraising and events. There will be opportunities to join the School Council this year but you do not need to join to attend the meetings. It's a great way to stay involved and know what's happening in and around our school this year!

For more information or reach out to Richmondschoolcouncil@gmail.com

Staff Appreciation Cart:

After such great success last year, School Council is excited to bring back the Staff Appreciation Cart. Every other month, our School Council will be restocking a staff cart with snacks and treats as a small gesture of gratitude for our hardworking staff. These thoughtful contributions go a long way in showing appreciation for the time, care, and dedication our teachers and support staff bring to Richmond School every day.

We are very grateful for any support families can provide. If you would like to contribute, please sign up using the link below:

Fun Lunches:

We are excited to kick off the new school year with the first Fun Lunch of the year with SUBWAY on Wednesday, September 16th! All parents who have children who would like to participate in the school's fun lunches will have to visit the webpage Healthy Hunger and follow the instructions on that page. Please note that Kindergarten students will not be participating in the Fun Lunch program, as they attend school for half days and are not present during lunch. We appreciate your understanding.
