March is a busy month. We are preparing for many upcoming activities and spring break is approaching. Please take some time to review the important messages below.

Grade 6 Popcorn Fundraiser for Camp

Grade 6's students will be doing their second popcorn fundraiser of the year for their Camp Kindle Trip.

Bags will be 2 for 5 dollars and will be sold to all students during recess time on Thursday, March 12. Popcorn will also be sold before the Spring Concert evening show on March 12.

If there is popcorn left over grade 6 students will be selling the remainder during Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20.

Available flavors are listed below, and all bags are 2 for 5 dollars.

School Conferences | Kindergarten ONLY

Please bring your child(ren) to the conference with you.
The Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 19 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Friday, March 20 from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM. Please note there will be no classes for KINDERGARTEN students (ONLY) on Thursday, March 19. Please sign up through your child’s MyCBE Account.

Online bookings will open on Tuesday, March 10 at 9:00 AM and close on Monday, March 16 at midnight.

Important: 2026-2027 Next Year School Update

If you plan on moving and your child(ren) will not be attending Richmond School, please let the office know as soon as possible. Our student number count is important in our planning for the upcoming school year 2026-2027.

Richmond School Spring Celebration 2026 (Grades K-2)

World Funky Sock Day

World Funky Sock Day is celebrated on March 21^st as part of World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). This is to encourage people to wear brightly coloured, mismatched socks to raise awareness and celebrate the uniqueness of individuals with Down Syndrome. The 21^st day of the 3^rd month signifies the triplication of the 21^st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.

Richmond School is excited to support World Funky Sock Day by asking students and staff to wear “Funky Socks” Thursday, March 19^th as this is the last day of school for Spring Break.

Richmond School Council Update

School Council Members

As we begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year, we invite parents and guardians to consider joining our School Parent Council. With only a few meetings remaining this year, now is a great time to attend and learn about the council’s contributions to our school.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 PM.

Most of our current Parent Council members will have children entering Grade 6 next year and will be stepping down. They are committed to supporting new members to ensure a smooth transition.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

• Chair
• Vice Chair
• Treasurer
• Casino Coordinator (next Casino: 2027–2028)
• Fundraising Coordinator
• Events/Volunteer Coordinator

Fun Lunches

The next Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch is Wednesday, March 11 with Mary Brown’s. The order deadline is Friday, March 6.

All parents with children in Grades 1–6 who wish to participate must visit the Healthy Hunger website and follow the registration instructions. Please select RICHMOND SCHOOL from the drop-down menu. Even if you have registered in previous years, you will need to register again to select your child’s new class before placing an order. Once registered, you will receive email notifications when new fun lunches are posted.
