Dear Families,

The theme for the Spring Celebration was the Carnival of Animals by French composer Camille Saint Saen. Camille wrote lots of very serious music and wanted everyone to think of him as a serious composer. Secretly, he wrote a series of silly songs inspired by animals and did not want anyone to listen to them until he had passed away. The Carnival of the Animals became one of his most famous and well-loved collections of music.

The Kindergarten – Grade 2 students’ performances included actions and songs of lions, tortoises, elephants, kangaroos, cuckoos and dinosaurs. Their performances were spectacular. Thank you to Mr. Goodridge, a passionate and deeply committed music teacher who inspires students to find their voices through the love of music and rhythm.
