Alien Inline Skating at Richmond School

Dear families,

As part of our Physical Education program, we are excited to offer an Inline Skating program for our students. These lessons will take place during school time on November 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29. Grade 1-6 classes will have three 1-hour sessions of Inline Skating instruction. Kindergarten students will have two 1-hour sessions.

This program will be instructed by Alien Inline. Part of class time will involve instruction and the other part will involve practice and free skate time. Please sign the attached Acknowledgement of Risk and Consent formand return it to the school. For students to participate, we require this signed consent form.

Equipment

Students must use equipment (knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards, as well as skates). Students with their own skates may not use them. Students must wear socks and helmets to participate. Alien Inline will supply helmets for those who do not have them; however, it is preferred that your child bring their own helmet if they have one. The helmet can be left at school for the duration of the residency. While a hockey helmet is preferred, a certified bike helmet is also acceptable.

Safety Protocols

To ensure the health and safety of all students, there is time scheduled between each class for a thorough cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment.

Cost for Participation

There is no cost to parents for this on-site activity as Richmond School Council is covering all costs associated with Alien Inline Skating!! Thank you to School Council for this providing opportunity for all students.

Volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering to assist with putting on equipment and skates, please complete the attached form and return it to your child’s teacher. We are looking for volunteers for our Kindergarten, and Grade 1 and 2. To volunteer, you must have current Police Security Clearance.
