The Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 students performed at the Spring Celebration on Thursday. Both the afternoon and evening performances were wonderful! The students were proud, courageous to get up on stage, and thrilled to perform for their families. Thank you for your support.

Thank you as well for supporting the popcorn fundraiser that helps the Grade 6 students who are headed to camp this spring.

The Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on:

• Thursday, March 19 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• Friday, March 20 from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.

Please note there will be no classes for KINDERGARTEN students (ONLY) on Thursday, March 19.

Important: 2026-2027 Next Year School Update

If you plan on moving and your child(ren) will not be attending Richmond School, please let the office know as soon as possible. Our student number count is important in our planning for the upcoming school year 2026-2027.

World Funky Sock Day

World Funky Sock Day is celebrated on March 21 as part of World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). This is to encourage people to wear brightly coloured, mismatched socks to raise awareness and celebrate the uniqueness of individuals with Down Syndrome. The 21^st day of the 3^rd month signifies the triplication of the 21^st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.

Richmond School is excited to support World Funky Sock Day by asking students and staff to wear “Funky Socks” Thursday, March 19 as this is the last day of school for Spring Break.

Richmond School Council Update

School Council Members

As we begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year, we are reaching out to invite parents and guardians to consider joining our School Parent Council. With only a few meetings left this year, now is a great time to come to a meeting and learn about parent council and their contributions to our school!

Our next meeting is on Wednesday May 13 at 6:30 PM.

The majority of our current Parent Council members will have children entering Grade 6 next year and will be stepping down. That said, they are more than willing to support and assist new members to ensure a smooth transition.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

• Chair
• Vice Chair
• Treasurer
• Casino Coordinator (next Casino: 2027–2028)
• Fundraising Coordinator
• Events/Volunteer Coordinator

Fun Lunches

The next Fun Lunch with Healthy Hunger is Wednesday, April 15 with Coco Brooks. The order deadline is Friday, April 10.

All parents with children in Grades 1–6 who wish to participate must visit the Healthy Hunger website and follow the registration instructions. Please select RICHMOND SCHOOL from the drop-down menu. Even if you have registered in previous years, you will need to register again to select your child’s new class before placing an order. Once registered, you will receive email notifications when new fun lunches are posted.
