Good afternoon all.  This message went out to our families today.

Dear Families,

Our students were in harmony with one another while singing songs on Music Monday. This was followed by their engagement and the respect shown during Dallas Arcand’s exciting and inspiring Indigenous Stories and Hoop Dancing. Students spoke their truth during conversations about Mental Health, being honest with themselves and each other; they embraced and engaged in wearing hats on this day of significance. The warmer weather and sunshine has lifted student spirits which is evident by their smiles and the ‘skip’ in their step.

We would like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to the Moms and special people in our student’s lives. May you enjoy the gift of time with your family this weekend.

Volunteer Tea

Volunteers play an important role in our School Community. Richmond students and staff are truly appreciative of your time, support and help throughout the year. We would like to show our gratitude and honour you at our Volunteer Tea on Thursday, May 23th at 10:30 am. If you have volunteered this year or are planning on volunteering please mark your calendars and RSVP to begocal@cbe.ab.ca by Friday, May 17th.

Swimming

As an enhancement to our Physical Education Program, the students will participate in swimming lessons at the Killarney Aquatics and Recreation Centre. Qualified swimming instructors from the facility will provide lessons to students Kindergarten to Grade 5. The cost of the six lessons is $35.00. The cost of the buses has generously been covered by Richmond School Council – thank you!

Richmond School Talent Show 2024

Recording is now underway for this year’s Talent Show! Thank you to all families that have returned the form for talent show participation so far. If you need another copy of the information letter, please let Mr. G. know. If singing or dancing, please include the name of the song on the form so that a backing track can be sourced before the audition. If playing the piano, please bring the sheet music to school if possible so that a photocopy can be made. Permission slips must be received by the end of next week - late submissions will not be accepted.

Students will receive a slip for their agenda with their audition date. Please support your students in practicing so that they are ready, and bring everything they need on their audition date. If recording is ahead of schedule, students may be given the option to audition early or to keep their original date.

Please email Mr. G. (adgoodridge@educbe.ca) with any backing tracks, sheet music, or questions.
